DnD Monday #60(298) Played 2019 07 29 - UPWARD (Tarsakh 1st, 1490)

INTRODUCTION

When last we left Team Food For Worms,

Two more party members, BALGRI the dwarf berserker and 

HIGAR the dragonborn hunter had joined in on the festivities, 

and the sizable group of adventurers made their way

WEST through winding corridors and 

past an empty room where someone had scrawled

"There is no way out"

right into the waiting clutches of two Umber Hulks

For those of you who weren't here to enjoy the action 

with us last time

INVESTIGATION/PERCEPTION

• The group can now notice foot prints leading into the NE corner, but disappearing into the wall
• The group continues on the trail:
• Find the secret door
• Find the hidden shaft
• Ascend up the shaft ("the Jeffries Tube") to level -1
• Another secret door opens into another dungeon level
• Ascend much further up into the top of a tower
• Listen at the top of the shaft for sounds on the other side of the hatch - nothing heard
• Inside the tower room at the top is an elf maid with a food stash (apples, squash, pumpkins, other foods that store well)

HER STORY

• Was working in the repairs room when the attack hit
• Happened to be near a known hidden shaft and made her way inside
• Remained there 2 days until sure no sounds
• Emerged at the top of the tower and watched
• Gathered food and watched more (carefully)
• Rats / Crows / FW Gulls / Bugs
• No undead, no mammals or humanoids
• Patrols of animated armor in pairs - loud, easy to hear them approach - confront rats :)
