DnD Tuesday #18(292) played 2019 07 23 - MAP!! (Tarsakh 1st, 1490)

INTRODUCTION

When last we left team No-name Adventurers For Hire

they'd added a new party member by ARRESTING a prisoner

they'd found chained in the dungeons below the mysterious castle

whose depths they now explore.

More than one way to skin a cat, it seems.

I hear there's an out of work vampire

and a pair of succubi sisters looking for gigs two levels up.

Anyway ...

Otto Tune is just happy to be free of his chains

and in a rush of post-liberation enthusiasm

he volunteers to do whatever (roll d(players)) 

asks, for the next hour of adventuring.

SCENE 01 - ROOM 18

As the newly expanded team explores Room 18, NES disarms a trap in the wooden door in the EAST wall, and pokes her torch into the room. 

SCENE 02 - ROOM 30

• On the floor of Room 30 lie two humanoid bodies (you cant see their faces given their face down posture). 
• Someone in the party notices that the motionless bodies appear to be breathing. 
• While some want to just set them on fire and move on, NES insists on checking them out to see if they might be innocent victims. An EXCELLENT point ... however ...  
• The two humanoids jump up and turn to attack. :(  

COMBAT: ROUND 1

• ROWAS - 22  
• Misses his attack on JUAN 
• OLO - 20 
• Tries to defuse the situation by knocking JUAN prone
• Casts earth tremor and JUAN fails his save and is knocked prone and takes 1 point of bludgeoning damage. 
• Yells "THERE'S A MISTAKE, WE'RE HERE TO HELP"
• EMERY - 20
• casts some fire based spell (didn't catch which one) and JUAN takes 8 points of FIRE DAMAGE
• JUAN - 18 
• Stands and then takes a swing at NES, but misses  
• NES - 17 
• Mouth-tazes JUAN and DOS who take 4 points of lightning damage.
• DOS is prone 
• EKUN - 17 
• Attacks JUAN and deals 6 points of damage  
• OTTO - 11 
• casts vicious mockery on JUAN but fails  
• DOS - 11  
• Attacks YESDI 1/2 punch for 9&5 bludgeoning damage
• YESDI - 5 
• JUAN takes a shot and goes prone and drops taking XX points of damage
• JUAN takes another shot and takes 1 more point of damage

COMBAT: ROUND 2

• ROWAS - 22 casts empowered magic missle @ JUAN for 10 points of damage
• OLO - 20 casts shilelie on JUAN for 8 points of damage
• EMERY - 20 casts firebolt at JUAN for 8 points of damage, KILLING JUAN DEAD!!
• JUAN - 18 JUST LIES THERE, DEAD
• NES - 17 - @DOS for 8 points of damage 
• EKUN - 17 - ATTACKS DOS with longsword for 7 points of damage 
• OTTO - 11 - casts viscious mockery but fails doing 1 point of damage
• DOS - 11 hits EKUN for 19 points of bludgeoning damage
• YESDI - 5 attacks DOS with short sword - trips, doing 13 points of damage
• Stab DOS again for 13 points of damage, and DOS goes PRONE

COMBAT: ROUND 3

• ROWAS - misses DOS with firebolt
• OLO -  misses DOS
• EMERY -  finishes DOS off with magic missiles for 11 points of damage ... DOS = DEAD
• JUAN -  already DEAD
• NES -  casts turn the tide - folk gain 6hp each
• OLO heals for up-to-20 hp, for a total of TOTAL 17hp to EKUN and NES
