DnD Thu Ep#81(309) Played Oct 31, 2019 (Ches 13, 1490) NYEZHITMIR DAY 2

INTRODUCTION


So, like this old guy told me you guys were like
Um, stuck on some other world, and like
You were, um, escaping from this cylindrical room, and like
One of you has this GEM, not like, like a FAKE gem, but like
The real deal and it can make you GO PLACES, 
So you do, I mean he, I think his name was like HEARIN or BLEERIN?
Well, anyway, he like makes you GO, 
And you like think you're going to this nasty mars-monster skeleton world, 
But instead ... 

SCENE 01 - BACK ON THE SURFACE?


  • LLYRIN activates his TELEPORTATION STONE, and while the party expects to end up on the surface of the nasty, toxic, mars-like world, somewhere near the large teleportation gate complex you used to arrive on this world, INSTEAD ...  

A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLACE

  • The party finds itself on the streets of a cold, windy, rainy medieval village
The Alien Village of Xyzh'kyjx (kheezh-kheejhix)
  • Everyone's there, including CLOVER (how'd he get there?)
    • Before leaving LONGSADDLE, CLOVER grabs a rolled up piece of parchment he sees lying nearby
      • SPELL SCROLL: Bigbies Hand spell scroll 
    • Looking up a gradual hill into a yucky looking city ... with breathable air
    • A rotting corpse hangs from a gibbit. Eeew. 
    • The party (other than LLRYIN and CLOVER) is not only cold and wet ... they're naked. 
    • The time of day is late dusk (not quite dark yet, but not easy to see either)
  • Starting at the bottom of the street, looking up hill
  • The air is misty and little cloud-lets dance through the street
  • HERBAK 
    • On the right, 4 doors down, sees that flickering lights appear in the windows
  • The streets here looks like they've been abandoned for a long time - holes riddle some of the buildings 
  • CLOVER spies the locked broken doors to a building to the left that seems like it might be a warehouse
  • FLORA uses ELDRITCH BLAST to blow the doors open as CLOVER ducks to avoid damage.

IN THE WAREHOUSE

  • Inside - large triangular structure - 50' longest wall (faces the street) 
    • Old racking, some collapsed
    • Shelves and piles of crates
    • Start a fire for some localized light 
    • TABLE OF POTIONS
      • Just on the other side of the door, a round table sits covered in small glass bottles
        • Moving forward, check out the glass bottles - all filled with strange colored liquids, each labeled "Drink Me"
        • All bottles are capped, with wax or cork or corded cloth/leather
      • DM QUESTION
        • I have this vague recollection that you stopped to get street clothes, but I don't hear it happening on the recording ... hmm. What did you do?
      • CLOVER grabs 3 small bottles
        • 1 = Strawberries - POTION OF SPEED
        • 2 = Sulfur (STILL UNCONSUMED)
        • 3 = Peppermint (STILL UNCONSUMED)
        • 4 = Peach - POTION OF LOVE
        • THEN  DRINKS Peach + Strawberry flavored - mixed together
          • (THIS HAPPENS AFTER VERALT FINALLY DRINKS)
          • Blends the effects of LOVE POTION and POTION OF SPEED (1MIN)
          • Feels compelling yearning to spend more time with VERALT - very romantic feelings - he MAY be the wizard of CLOVER's dreams  
      • HERBAK also grabs a bottle and downs it
        • POTION OF FIRE GIANT STRENGTH - 1 HR - STR = 25
      • FLORA
        • Grabs a bottle and downs it - clear red liquid with tiny bubbles
        • ELIXIR OF HEALTH 
      • VERALT waits to see what happens
      • ARGUS
        • ARGUS drinks one that smells like farts ... and begins to disappear and becomes gaseous - and he'll remain gaseous so for 1 hour
      • LLYRIN 
        • Drinks FIRE BREATHING potion (lasts for 1 hour)
      • GILAM 
        • Mixes two potions together and drinks the concoction 
        • POTION OF MIND READING with POTION OF GROWTH ... 
          • Growth effect (1d4) = 3 hours 
          • EFFECT - Enlarged Detect Thoughts = Can read HERBAK's mind, like a book, for 3 hours, plus the usual abilities of Detect Thoughts 
      • VERALT finally drinks a potion
        • HILL GIANT STRENGTH = STR = 21
        • CLOVER asks VERALT - would you like a scroll of BIGBIES HAND?
    • ARGUS goes in gaseous form to check out the flickering lights down the street 
      • The rest of the party soon hears smashing and crashing
      • 3 doors down on the opposite (right side) of the street, Skeletons are fighting ARGUS (or trying to, as he's in gaseous form?)
        • Argus has broken concentration on the Gaseous Form effect and resumed form as his normal (but still naked self) and is combating several skeletons in the battered doorway to a tavern using the nearest hunk of wood he could find. 
        • One skeleton is working its way through either of he windows to either side of the doorway.
      • HERBAK 
        • Cries out "STOP! We are not your enemies, what are you doing!"
        • The skeletons look toward HERBAK and attack, axes raised. Their attack is clunky. 
        • "That didn't work!"
        • One of the approaching skeletons says "Undeath ... FOREVER!!"
      • CLOVER
        • Fires crossbow @ furthest skeleton coming through left window
        • "Stay away from my wizard, you!"
      • VERALT
        • Uses his whip @ whip melee range on the closer skeleton
        • Hits for 6 damage on the RIGHT WINDOW SKELETON
          • SKRW can't strike back
      • FLORA
        • The skeletons are trying to get through their respective windows, but doing it with great clunkiness
        • Eldritch Blast (right window, Veralt's target) hits for 20 points of force GONE
        • Eldritch Blast (left window, 9 points of damages the one with the fancy hat)
      • HERBAK
        • Strikes (unarmed) and does 8 points of BLD damage on fancy hat bones man
      • CLOVER
        • (muffled, hard to hear)
        • 12 points of damage on the approaching fancy hat dude - the headless skeleton now wonders aimlessly around the street
      • FLORA targets the  left SK in the doorway (on the right more engaged, on the left, waiting)
        • Misses with both EB's ... TWO NAT 1's ... too worried that she's going to hit ARGUS
