INTRODUCTION

When last we left our bold band of brave adventurers

They'd neatly blasted their way through a formation of local skeletoids

Re-equipped themselves, to some small extent

And "carefully" made their way into a boarded up dwelling, 

Therein finding cross-bows, food, and a trapped hatch-way leading to a downward spiral stair.

Just another day saving the universe ...

BUT FIRST ...

SCENE 01 - LUCCI

HISTORICAL RECAP (something we forgot to cover last time (Ep 82))

RESUMING ACTION

LONG REST & or scout ahead

• During the long rest, the team hear noises below the floor, but nothing threatening
• LLYRIN - 1st and 2nd watch
• HERBAK 
• works on his holy symbol
• finds a cook pot that's a perfect fit, though it is lined with sticky berry jam and has a single curved horn handle. 
• ARGUS & VERALT
• hint of sun coming through planks covering windows
• sound of knocking coming from the underside of the hatch
• Move the chair that was on the hatch
• ARGUS readies his curtain rod, ready to strike, motioning for VERALT to open the hatch
• Standing at the top of the stairwell is a young woman (teen or early 20's) - gazes at the pair with a cautious smile
• "You're not bonies"
• Carries a heavy crossbow, short sword and dagger
• Reaches into a pouch and shows CLOVER the cupcake, that's been good ... 3 times.
• A cupcake riddled with time magic - rewinds itself in time - very dangerous. 
• CLOVER introduces himself 
• LUCCI - "Would you like something to eat?"
• Steps up into the room, puts the crossbow down on one of the beds, checks out the party. She seems impressed with you as a group, though you're not all that well dressed or equipped (most of you) ... LLYRIN, AURORA and LLYRIN are dressed as they normally would be, the rest in your new duds. 
• Speaks common with a heavy "scottish" accent
• Checks out the party - sees them as aliens in her space
• Moves toward the kitchen, into the kitchen, gets the fire going, starts preparing food
• "You're in the town of Deathly Hollow ... where do YOU come from"?
• THE PARTY
• "We're not from around here - teleported from ... hmm ... some place far away."
• LUCCI
• "Our nation is dead, and I'm not sure what a continent is"
• "There are a few of us here, more below, thanks to The One, we do our best to stop the spread of the bonies."
• VERALT 
• Trying to figure out if the party has jumped to a time on Toril when the undead have won - Checks out the window - this isn't the sun we're used to. 
• AURORA 
• "What happened here? "
• LUCCI
• "The invasion of the bonies from under the ground 3 score years ago. I might introduce you to the One, later ... it might be a good idea. But eat first."
• The food is all good, well prepared, but all dried, salted food - nothing fresh. 
• VERALT
• Knows the party is in a different world. 
• Gets some wire (from LUCCI's jewelry box)
• Makes some magic sun glasses with red and blue glass
• While Veralt works on that ... 
• LUCCI
• Learnings
• 20 years old
• Born around the time the bonies swelled up from under the earth 
• Small pockets of survivors that hid from the undead
• Survivor pockets have shrunk over time - undead took over most towns on the surface
• Loose but loyal confederation of underground groups that get assistance from the One and the One's allies. 
• Rumors that the bonies don't run the entire world. 
• Deep Hammers are the first real people LUCCI has seen in many years

• Appeared about 5 years ago - helps the underground humanoids 
• Growing and preparing dried food
• Rumors that the One has wings

• Wants to meet the One - as does most of the rest of the group.

• Agrees to introduce the group to the One
• Thinks the One supports group efforts to stop the spread of the undead. 
• Willing to lead you down through the hatchway and through the Trapway
• "Are you good at navigating dangerous spaces, or are you "bookish types?"

• "I'm good with both!"

• FRONT:  llyrin scouting, aurora (2nd), veralt, flora
• MIDDLE:  clover hangs out in the middle
• BACK:  gilam and herbak will hang back

SCENE 02 - DOWN THE SPIRAL STAIR

• LUCCI leads you through a labyrinth of trapped rooms and passages that takes about half an hour. The traps are mostly noticeable to the party, but there are a few cleverly disguised ones that the party might have missed ... though they'd never admitted. 
• After leaving the TRAPWAY, you begin descending a long, slippery spiral stone stairway, bathed in an eerie green light emanating from a point off to one side of the large cavern.

• Dead skeleton at the bottom of the stairs
• LUCCI bows toward the green light
• "Greetings to the One ... I bring visitors". 
• AURORA bows.  
• FLORA (I think, hard to hear on recording)
• Suggests that the rest of the party also bows
• HERBAK
• Channel Divinity - tries to read it's thoughts (within 60')
• WIS save for creature - tries to read surface thoughts - fail - you can read its surface thoughts

• Hopeful
• Encouraged
• Wants to know more about you
• "It's an honor to meet you, won't you come and have a conversation with us?"
• THE ONE 
• A radiant individual, floating in space, bows toward you
• It welcomes you 
• Each of you hears it speak in your preferred language
• "Welcome strangers from another world."
• Yes, it knows future-common
• "I believe we can be of assistance and service to each other, if you unite in our resistance to the spread of undeath."
• "The spread of undeath began 20 years ago. But I am speechless at what you bring with you."
• LLYRIN
• "Yes, I know I'm a wonderful asset to the cause."
• "No, we don't know what "it" is ..."
• LLYRIN removes the REVIVITOR STONE from the bag of holding and it's glowing in a way you've never seen it glow before. 
• Glows in the same color as the being you're conversing with

• "This and others like it are familiar. I am overjoyed to see it here."
• "It is an artifact, crafted by my ancestors, to help those in situations such as your own."
• HERBAK
• "Are you familiar with the Purple Worm?"
• THE ONE
• "O, indeed ... all too familiar, as you WILL be. What would you like to know? But first, let us go somewhere you can be comfortable."
